Dear Maryland Space Business Roundtable,

We hope you are doing well! We would like to start this email by thanking you dearly for your support of our team this past season. As a sponsor of our team, you’ve directly contributed to the success and longevity of our program, and we appreciate your support. This past season, our team has seen many successes:

After our 2 district events in Alexandria and Bethesda, we were invited to the district championship. Even though we were competing against the best teams in the DMV, we won in all of our matches and in the competition, the first time we have done so.

• For the 3rd time in 5 years, we qualified for the world championship, and made it to the semifinals in our division.
• We won the Engineering Inspiration Award
• We had 2 individual recognitions as well: Allison Zhang, who won the FIRST Leadership Award for student leadership; and Dr. Daniel Pedersen, who won the Woodie Flowers award for exemplary mentorship.

On top of our competitive achievements, we have made a significant impact on STEM education and outreach in our community. Some of our highlights include:

• Bringing stem demonstrations to schools and community events across the county including Title 1 schools
• Teaching 5 FREE classes over the summer to students who need it the most
• Hosting an FLL (FIRST Lego League) qualifier for 5th-8th graders, when all other events for them were inaccessible.

In total, just last year, our team spent 835 hours doing outreach, through classes, exhibitions, mentorship, and organizing our flagship offseason competition, Bunnybots. We also made valuable connections with elected officials, such as our congressman, Jamie Raskin. For more information about our season, we invite you to watch:
