October 15, 2025 Luncheon featuring Dr. Scott Pace

On October 15, 2025, the Maryland Space Business Roundtable was honored to host Dr. Scott Pace, Director of the Space Policy Institute and Professor at George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs.

Dr. Pace’s presentation, “Aligning U.S. Policies, Programs, and Budgets in Space,” offered a thought-provoking analysis of how the United States can strengthen its leadership in space. He emphasized that strategic alignment among policy, programs, and budgets is essential to closing the gap between stated priorities and real-world outcomes. Dr. Pace underscored that achieving meaningful progress in space requires matching ends, ways, and means through deliberate leadership and collaboration across civil, military, intelligence, and commercial sectors, each with unique cultures but all integral to advancing national space power.

We also welcomed our newest MSBR Board members: AJ Coleman from SAIC, Brandon Eden from JHU-APL, and Mark Fuerst from Columbus. We are excited to have their expertise and leadership join the Roundtable as we continue advancing Maryland’s space community.

MSBR extends its sincere appreciation to Dr. Pace for sharing his insights and engaging with our community on the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of space policy.
