August 2025 Luncheon Featuring James “J.J.” Shaw

As Senior Business Development Lead – Intelligence Community for Amazon’s Kuiper Government Solutions (KGS), James “J.J.” Shaw helps prepare for the launch of Amazon Kuiper’s Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite services, which will revolutionize global broadband connectivity.

Prior to KGS, J.J. held numerous leadership roles in the satellite and defense sectors. Most recently, he served as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) for OneWeb, where he played a key role in facilitating its merger with Eutelsat. He also helped establish Telesat U.S. Services, LLC, serving as Vice President of Information, Security, and Operations. Previously, J.J. was President of James Shaw Consulting, LLC, Vice President for Government Operations and Product Development at O3B Networks, and Director for Global Naval Business Development at Inmarsat PLC. At Inmarsat, he introduced Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN), Maritime Fleet Broadband, and Global Xpress technologies to governments worldwide.

J.J. holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from UC Santa Barbara, a Master of Science in Systems Technology (Space Systems Operations) from the Naval Postgraduate School, and a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies (with distinction) from the U.S. Naval War College.
